My ex employer is in possession of naked photos of me, that were private photos she obtained by snooping around on my private external hard drive. She copied the lot of them and is now blackmailing me with them, in order to not pay the amount the court ordered her to pay me in winning the unfair dismissal case against her. She has JUST sent those images to child welfare trying to say im a bad mother, and trying to get them to take my son away from me. IS this legal, what is she guilty of, how serious is it and what should I do?

This is why it's not a smart idea to take naked photos of yourself. But still, your ex employer not only obtained those photos without your permission (which is technically theft, intruding in personal business/files/privacy and possessing pornographic images of a person without permission), but she is also using them to blackmail you. I don't know what the laws are like where you live, but I'd say she's breaking a fair few. I'd contact the police. I think her actions are very illegal. I would consider it a serious matter, especially since it threaten yours privacy and reputation, and also threatens your family. Get in contact with the police before the matter gets worse. I hope everything works out for you in the end. And from now on, I urge you to be careful when it comes to those kind of pictures so you never have to go through this again.
Thanks so much. Lesson learnt. I am meeting up with the welfare worker today and very nervous. Will let you know how it turns out. Considering going to the police over the weekend, but also waiting to hear form my lawyer.
