why are silver weapons, stakes, and crucifixes ect. common weapons to use in vampire movies and literature?
personal interest.
I remember reading somewhere that for the most part only churches had access to silver because it was so expensive. They in turn used the silver to fight off demons, like silver bullets for werewolves. In Dracula the wooden stake is used to sever his connections to the earth or something, I can't really remember. The point is vampires are evil creatures of the devil and only holy relics will hurt them, good vs. evil and all that jazz. However, if you can find me a vampire in the bible, I'd be really impressed.
