My wife and I loved a song in the 80's called "Right from the start"... or at least that's what I think it was called. It is not the one sang by Earl Thomas Conely. I always thought it was sung by John Waite... but apparently it is not. Some lyrics I remember:

I remember you... young nights wild and free... even then you saw the weakness in my eyes....

Holding in a moment a thousand dreams... lying in your arms was paradise...
right from the start, it was you right from the start...
right from the start like an echo in my heart. I can't deny the weakness in my eyes... I knew it was you right from the start.

I desperately want to know the singer so we can hear it again.....

I've been looking for this song for over a year, but it seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth.  In the 80s when I was a kid, it was on the radio all the time.
