Yes, it's not especially strange. Everyone's voice has a different timbre and there's some overlap between male voices and female voices. If the pitch of your voice is in that overlap area, then people could think you could equally be male or female. It's nothing at all to worry about, and some men prefer women who speak in lower registers.
Yes, it happens all the time. A woman with a deep voice is considered "sultry". Get a recorder and practice reading poetry. Or any stories.
