I strung it myself with strings that said could be used for a soprano. All of the notes are on 3 instead of 4 (G3, a3, e3, and a3). I can't find any information online about this. How did this happen and is there a way to fix it?
My soprano ukulele is tuned an octave too low on GCEA. The strings are not extremely loose or tight?

You can tune it any way you want to by using different weight (diameter) strings. Chet Atkins once put two bass strings on his guitar so he could play bass lines by himself. For example: if you tune GCEA and it's an octave too low, move the A string down to the G position, and get three more strings of the same proportional weight difference.
