Some background my husband and I signed up with a retirement account firm to manage our retirement and long term investments. The sales person we where working with moved firms and then tried to get us to join him new firm. When we meet with him he put forms in front of us with all of our info on them including our SSN. I went back and read the old company's privacy policy and it says he may have any public information when he leaves but not private. We did not move firms with this sales guy but we know he has a copy of both of our SSN which I thought would remain private.
What do I do? Who should I report this to? I thought that giving my info to this firm mint it was safe but I guess they didn't keep it safe enough.
Thanks for your help.

Report it to the company you signed with! He may have signed an agreement with them when he first came on board and they can take legal action.
I'd raise holy hell with the company i signed with.
