My nokia 808 got infected with sos ( shortcut ) virus .I can see the applications on my screen but cannot do any manipulations on the file manager coz nothing is there ( only shortcuts ) . I managed to salvage my external micromemory card by inserting it into my laptop and scanning it with USBFIX .But the internal HD is not seen as a peripheral mass storage when I attach my nokia to any PC so I cannot subject it to USBFIX. I know I can probably solve the issue by going to the nokia dealer but he will probably format it and reset to factory settings ( which I dont want to do ).
My nokia built in hard disk got infected with short cut virus. Is there any way to remove it?

There is no issue with your Nokia 808.
Issue is with the memory card.
So don't do the factory reset.
What really has happened is your memory card has infected with the Shortcut Virus.
It is a virus which converts files and folders in removable devices (flash drives, external hard drives, SD cards ...) to shortcuts when the device connected to a infected PC.
I don't know where is the infected PC. Sometimes it may be your one.
You can check it by plugin a flash drive to your PC.
Copy some files and folders to your flash drive and remove it from the PC. After that plugin it again to the PC. If the files and folders in the flash drive looks OK, then OK. If they have converted to shortcuts then your PC has infected with the Shortcut Virus.
Fixing a Virus infected PC is not an easy task.
However if you fixed it, then again there will have lot of issues due to the changes done by the virus to windows system.
The ideal solution is format the internal hard drive and reinstall the OS again with a reliable virus guard before to another virus attack.
For removable devices like Flash Drives, Memory Cards you can use Shortcut Virus Remover.
100% free simple application.

Thank you AngeloDietrich but I would like to emphasize that I did fix my sd card and I am actually using it instead of the internal hard disc which I could not access for fixing with USB fix.Now I am using the internal HD as a storage closet only coz I discovered that I can store data by making subfolders and storing files in them but they are not accessible to ...for eg. Gallery or videos or sound recordings etc.
