It's not that your name sounds bad, it's just not on our list of words that are used for names. Americans prefer names that sound familiar. Tell people your name is Omar. They will think of the famous actor Omar Sharif and that is a name they have heard before.

It depends on what you want to do. If you want to change your name, then find a name that people can relate to. Common names like Bob, Jeff, Mike, and more are good names. Your name sounds fine, and people will be able to pronounce it perfectly fine, after hearing you say it.
