After resting on a sprained ankle for a week, i returned to physical activity. Now it is three weeks later, and i am weaker and slower than before the injury. What can i do to return to my old strength?

You are out of training, or what we used to call "soft". You need to get back into your training program. You also need to study some books about nutrition because there are several things that affect your strength. Magnesium is one. Magnesium strengthens muscles, calms nerves, stops cramps, and fights infections. Get epsom salt. It is cheap, five bux for a year's supply. Put a dose in a glass with water to cover and stir until it dissolves. Fill the glass with lemonade and drink it. You can take it without the lemonade but you won't like the taste. Milk of magnesia is more expensive but nicer tasting and gentler laxative action. Your choice.
