Ok I'm really lost i don't know what happened to my sisters dwarf hamster. A few weeks ago my sister got 2 dwarf hamsters from Petco they both were together when we got them but they weren't from the same family and as a gerbil owner i know its a big no no to do that but the hamsters were young and were good with each other. things were going great until yesterday when one of the hamsters disappeared the weird thing was we couldn't find the hamster or how it could have gotten out of its cage I wasn't home when this happened so my sister said she had already checked her bedding for the hamster. So the next day after hours of searching for the hamster I looked though the cage when i touched something wet and picked it up and at closer look I saw bones and fur and i new it was the hamster. It was really weird the hamster was only gone for one day and it ends up in bones and fur over night. I know hamsters are know for eating each other but i don't know if the hamsters fought because the other hamster dosn't have any blood or injuries on it so i just want to know what the heck happened or if this has happened to anyone else cause it all just a mystery.
My dwarf hamster was killed by the other hamster?

On further look the the hamster dead body of the hamster there are some weird things about it. The whole body has no meat on it so I'm assuming that the other hamster has eaten it but also all of the hamsters body is turned inside out and when its turned back you can see all the fur is still attached and its feet and tail but its head is gone all thats left is the bones and the body has no scratches or wounds on it its scary to think that this other hamster did this but I'm still not sure what happened.

Dwarf hamsters were a NIGHTMARE to me as a child...
They reproduce every 16 days and not only eat each other, but in some cases themselves?? (After taking my literal box of hamsters to my family's pet store and keeping only one, I found that one day my lone hamster was missing a leg. No loose leg, blood, or evidence, plenty of available food, and leg just gone). I would recommend that one hamster is the best route- no chance of the crazy reproductive cycle or the horrible carnage they seem to inflict on each other. Ug!!!
Poor poor hammys
They were a nightmare for me too. They bitme, ate each other, got sick, and always needed vet checkups.
