My dog is pretty good with other dogs but is protective of me when another dog approaches how can i?

...  stop her from showing aggression and be friendly when another dog is in my space? She does "claim" me by scooting up next to me but I've read suggestions that say just to go around her and say no even when im very firm in doing this she still has possessive/dominant reactions what can i do?

if a dog feels threated by another dog and feels that the dog is a threat to its  owner all you can really do is pat her and let her know not feel threated i think if thats done a while it will help.
