Ok, so I have a 8 month old boxer mix puppy. When I would come home after work I would find her out of her crate and my front door all scratched up, so me and my boyfriend wanted to see how she was getting out and video taped her when we left... well we soon found out we had a much bigger problem than we thought... we live in an apartment and the dog barks NONE STOP. Not only this but she tries to chew out of the cage, to the point im scared she is going to hurt herself. I have never seen a dog so scared and anxies in a crate. Iv done some research and I dont think shes bored shes a very quiet laid back dog and sleeps all day! (mind you now I know why shes so tired!!!) I try playing with her and she just stars at me... i gave her lots of bones and she has no idea what to do with them. I take her for runs everyday, she gets lots of attention, iv tried leaving her in it for small amount of time to try n slowly get her use to it, iv even tried a collar that makes noise and vibrates every time she barks... nothing has worked in fact the collar made it worse and made her puke... the only other thing I can think of is getting her a shock collar and i really dont want to do that after seeing how the vibration collar went but i dont know what else to do. Any ideas would help! Thanks
My dog has serious separation anxiety, HELP?

oh and just a little more info.. this dog is perfect when we are home. she never barks or anything. this is why we were so shocked that she was doing this. we also have tried putting her in the crate when we are home to try to catch her barking and correct it but shes a angel in it when we are there! and a little back history on the dog. iv only owned her for two weeks. we just got her and we were told she was abused by her previous owners (we thought that may have somethign to do with it)

i can't really answer your question for help. i do know that when a dog has been abused, it could be mentally or physically. it think your dog has been left alone for way too long and now gets scared any time you leave, because you may never(or hardly ever) come back.
