So this is what happens and it's always small things like this .
I took out the trash on Tuesday (trash night) and didn't bring it in until Wednesday. My father got extremely mad and said I purposefully left it out there , which is not true I really did forget about it . I'm a college student and always have a lot on my mind . he ALWAYS yells at me for doing stuff like this and than becomes very nice the next day like nothing ever happened and he won't even talk about it . I don't understand .
Everytime I leave the house I have to check to make sure everything is in place for my own sake so that I don't get yelled at. It's really hard to deal with and I've gotten really bad anxiety from this.
My dad yells at me really badly over the dumbest stuff and treats me nicely the very next day. why?

There could be many reasons for this. Maybe he's generally just a stressed out person, and because he knows you're family, you sometimes end up being an unintentional outlet.
Or maybe he has a temper problem, and is unable to let the little things go, thus keeps blowing up and then realising he was a dick and then makes up for it.
Or maybe the little things which you forget, which are not important to you, are important to him, and he can't understand why you forgot them when they're such simple and easy things to do.
Just remember that your father is a human too, and just like you, makes mistakes, can be a dick, misunderstands, or whatever. This is something you need to talk about with him, and not look for answers on the internet.
