First of all if your computer is acting in a strange way its always smart to unplug your Ethernet cable & other wireless device so that you can cut down on the chances of being hacked or that someone is remote attacking your computer.
Now if you have a computer that was built by a company like Compaq, eMachines, or so on, then you should have a restore disk that came with your computer. If you have lost this then you will need to contact that company for a replacement disk. If you have the disk then insert it into your computers CD/DVD drive, and follow the intrusions to either do a clean install like you got it, or to restore from a previous point which you backed up. If you have any important data, pictures, files, etc you can take the hard drive out, and connect it to another computer as a 2nd drive & safely remove any important files, but DO NOT open anything on that computer from that drive! Only copy the important things over that you NEED. Once you do that, you can reformat the drive & put it back on your computer. Do not reparation! You will loose the recovery or install files needed that have been setup on a hidden partition by the computer manufacture, then you will be forced to buy a Windows operating system, and it will be a whole new headache for you. Because if I am right, you do not know a lot about your computer, at least not enough to reformat & install your OS again with drivers, and all.
1st call your computer manufacture to ask them for help. Better safe then sorry!
