I went into my modems settings to change the security type to wpa2-tkip, so I could connect to my ps4 because it is the only way I can get it to work on WiFi. I use to have every security mode, now I only have wpa2-aes and the wpawpa2-psk tkip/aes recommended mode. I tried factory resetting but it did not work. below those 2 security modes it has- show more security mode options, but it does not work. if I check it and click save, it resets my network to open wep. any solution?

I figured it out! for some reason you have to go to wizard in the modem, you will have to change your password as well. then you can change security encryption type. very weird, it was not like that before. oh well, easy fix.
YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!! I literally spent weeks with this problem. Thank you so much.
no problem. I'm glad I could help. I was working on it for a few days, it was annoying.
unfortunately, not yet.... I will try contacting my ISP and see what they say.
