We have 3 cats. Patty, Reba and Mimi. Patty is fixed but the other two aren't, and they're both pretty young. Mimi is in heat right now and I've noticed the two cats that aren't in heat are attacking Mimi! Reba started it, what they tend to do is bite her neck and Patty jumped on her back. I'm not sure why my FEMALE cats are doing this. And I know Reba is female, she's gone throigh heat before herself. Patty is also female. And beside that fact, it's also fairly obvious by lifting the tail.
So we have no idea why they're attacking Mimi but any explanation or way to stop them from hurting Mimi would be appreciated.
My 2 female cats are attacking my kitten in heat?

My theory is that the other two cats are attacking out of competition. Again it's just a theory but lions are the closest to house cats. Male lions breed with multiple female lions. At times a new male lion will kick the old lion out and kill off all that lions offspring to make his own. I know you said your cats are females but this may be an effect of that type of behavior.
