I have 4 kids (3 diagnosed with adhd). Add/adhd runs in my family and my husband's mother is bipolar. I think my husband could be, but hasn't been diagnosed...he self medicates with marijuana and xanax. I feel like I live in crazy town most of the time with me trying to be the ring master. I love my family and want to do anything I can to help, but not sure how. My 14 yr old son has been on medication/stimulants for 6 years and it does help, but he often complains of being tired, irritable, or shakey. He is VERY hyper and impulsive without his medicine and always in a mania/excited state. His medicine calms him down, but makes him irritable and agitated. I'm wondering if he could be bipolar as well. We've had him tested for everything, but different doctors say different things. It's so hard to know for sure.

anything can go wrong when it comes to adhd it is hard to treat you might want to take him to a mental health counselor or therapist they can do evaluation on him and correctly diagnose him if he does have bi polar so the mental health community is a good one need to know exactly what he has some kids get put in special education because of their issues it would allow him to go at their own pace i would look into it
