I went out to check on the puppies my lab fvffhad 5 weeks ago to find that she had eaten one. It wasnt the runt and I figured if there was something wrong with it she would have already done something. Was this an act of aggression? She is aggressive towards people and dogs she doesnt know, as well I have seen her growl at the puppies for trying to feed while she was eating. Should I separate them? They are eating puppy food and get around fine.

Good - all the best to you and the pups ---- Puppie mom too...
Oh...might want to get her spayed..
I am! We were going to have her fixed but when we took her in they were like "too late" and I didnt want to have her scraped.. it sounded horrible! But again thank you for the positive response! I posted this question on yahoo answers and some lady jumped down my throat about being a back yard breeder? And said that the pups will just end up in a shelter.
NP...we had the same situation with our Little Mama :0) (red tabby cat). Also did not know at that time that she could get prego again while still nursing the first litter LOL. We found really good homes with the help of a local shelter for all the babies and we kept Little Mama.
One thing be sure to never ever give the puppies away, always charge an adoption fee NO Matter how small. There are just too many crazy people out there and that at least will keep some at bay!
That isnt a bad idea! but thank you:))
thank you! i was planning on talking to the vet as soon as i could but by the time i discovered what had happened his office was closed.. i did talk to them and they said that there could have been something wrong with the pup or a munber of other things. since the pups are eating puppy food they are ready to go to new homes:)
