I assume you mean the daughters have four brothers. There are ten in the family: mother, father, four daughters, and four sons. I just don't understand why anybody would misread the question and try to say there are any other number.

The answer is ten because you have four daughters and they have four brothers, therefore, your answer is 10. This is just like that other one......
