We had to move some cardboard boxes that were stored in a basement into my home yesterday. We found what I guess was mildew on the outside of the boxes (a greenish white powdery like substance). We have looked at some information through searches, some suggesting to remove items outside into sunlight and wipe away the mildew among other suggestions. We don't have that option to remove outside, being in an apartment building. Is there something we can do to keep it from spreading to other items in their new home without contaminating anything at new location, in which no mold or mildew has been present. Perhaps a solution to wiping down the boxes? Please, any help would be appreciated.
