I am teaching my students how to read and question. The main point of the Missouri Compromise is apparent. But, how was the U.S. able to sell Missouri land (tax free for 5 years) if Missouri was now to be a state? (5th part of section 6) Wouldn't Missouri sell its own land? Am I reading this wrong?
