Meaning behind naming a home?

You can't just assume that everybody knows what you are talking about. You have to explain enough to identify a particular answer.

A home might be named for the person who built it, such as Hearst Castle. It might be named for the neighborhood, Cuesta Encantada. It might be named for the city, San Simeon. Or it might be given a name made up for the purpose. "Meaning" is not usually a part of the choice.
