Suppose that T is the midpoint of WV.  If WT = 12x - 3 and TV = 4x + 29.  Calculate the length segment WT.

Answer

Since T is the midpoint of WV, so the length of WT is equal the length of TV.
        WT = TV
  12x - 3 = 4x + 29
12x - 4x = 29 + 3
         8x = 32
           x = 4
And, since the lenght of WT is equal the length of TV, you can substitute x in both equation.
The answer is 45.
