In this question u need to 1st find the value of x then of y. SO, lets start...M telling u the step by step solution
5x+2y =10
x+2y = 10/5 [as 5 goes from left to right it will get multiplied]
so, x = 2 - 2y [as 10/5 = 2]
Now,lets put the value of x in the equation
5(2-2y) +2y =10
10 - 10y + 2y =10
-8y=10 -10
-8y=0
y= 0/8 Here we get value of y=0
Now y=0 and x=2-2y = 2-2(0) = 2-0 = 2
so we got the values of both x and y..now lets check it..
x=2 and y = 0
5(2) + 2(0) =10
10+0=10
