I really need help. I've been lying to my family about my college. They think that I am on 3rd year but, I just started (freshman this September) because I have been failing. I can't tell the truth because they are going to be disappointed. My mom always says that she trusts me and I feel really bad. I am depressed and started thinking bad stuff. I need to cover 2 years and I dont know what to say (can't tell the truth). Please do not say tell the truth. What should I tell them, how can I cover the lies? I am 22 years old.

Stop lying. Done.
And you're not depressed. You just think you are because so many people online claim to be, even though they aren't, and it just seems to be an online fad that people are all "anxious and depressed" when they just don't have anything better to think about.
You're depressed from holding the weight of your lies to your parents. You should honestly reconsider telling the truth because nothing good comes out of keeping it all to your self. In the end it hurts you and the people you lied to. That being said, If you do so you will feel a whole lot better and depending on how you do so your parents wont be that disappointed in the situation.
You could try taking them out to dinner or doing something nice for them and when the time is right tell them "Hey look, I lied to you about going to college. I've been struggling lately and I started as a freshman. I didn't want you to be disappointed." something along those lines. Good Luck.
