... friends really dislike him. I admit that he has a few major personality flaws but I was willing to accept them when we started dating. Even if they are sometimes infuriating, I deal with them, but my friends say that I deserve better. Any advise, or comments would be extremely helpful thank you :)

well i would say that you have decided to say work with him on his issues it would be the same if you were having the problems would he stand beside you if the tables were turned would he over look the issues and help you get through it thats something only you can answer mabe he would help you to sometimes thats what it takes they just got to except your decision and leave you alone about it if you can't keep doing it your the only one that can make a different in what you want
You sound just like me when I started dating my husband. He was everything I said that I was going to stay away from due to past relationships. However, love won out. I learned that 1 you're never going to change somebody and then be happy with them because that's not who you fell in love with. And 2...it really doesn't matter what anybody else thinks just so long as you're both happy but that's the most important part are you happy. Does he make you happy? If a man makes you cry more often than not then it's time to reevaluate your relationship and whether or not it's worth getting your heart involved in because your heart is very valuable and very very breakable. You also need to figure out if he loves you for you and as much as you love him. This should be non negotiable. You're worth it.
