I am a single elderly person that lives in Ontario Canada with two small dogs. My concern is that if I should pass away in my sleep, and no one knows, that my dogs could starve to death before I am found. My question: Is anyone aware of a product or service that monitors a person's vitals or has a system that a person can check into daily? If the product or system notices a major change in the vitals or the person does not check in, it will notify the proper authorities or family of a possible situation?

The system is called "friends", but the system is pretty much broken these days. Some towns have a senior center for that purpose, but again, the system is often broken. There are companies that offer some such services, usually as a burglar alarm, but I have no information about that.
This is a legitimate concern. Make arrangements for a neighbor to check in on you each day, or have a friend or family member call you each day. Keep them informed of your plans. Further, make living arrangements for your dogs. Have a dependable friend take them, or go to your local animal shelter. Mine will take my two cats back and either re-adopt them or let them live in the retirement cattery the rest of their lives.
Thanks. But I guess I should have noted that I no longer have any friends or family that live anywhere close to me. The closest is a 5 hour drive. No one in my apartment building would be willing to check on me every day. That's why I'm looking for an outside solution. I have already made plans for my pets care if I pass before them. Thanks again though.
Ask your mailman to check on u each day. You need to affiliate yourself with a church: they will check on u each day. Invest in a medical alert device & arrange for a daily check-in time. Sincerely hopes this helps. I love living alone but I have friends & family that check on me.
Thanks. I will check it out.
