A friend has been diagnosed with Legionnaires Disease and taking Antibiotics. I’m concerned about mixing with her even though she said the disease isn’t contagious.
Is it possible she could have cold, flu like symptoms which are contagious?
Also what tests are done to confirm Legionnaires Disease?
Thanks

Legionnaires Disease is a type of pneumonia, with symptoms like cough, shortness of breath, fevers and chills, the treatment is antibiotics. You can go to the pharmacy or drug store and pic up those mouth gards/masks for yourself so you are protected from getting baceries/viruses at the moment (from her or anyone else).
Thank you for prompt response.
I did read you have to have a blood and/or urine test to confirm the disease but unsure if she had this done at the doctors clinic (didn’t mention it).
My health isn’t the best eg emphysema and even just contracting a cold or the flu from her won’t be nice.
She still sounds very nasally and hoarse throat like a bad cold.
She said. “Don’t you believe me”, well I want to but feel have to be careful just in case, so may have to cancel our long car trip tomorrow.
Any views would be helpful.
Thanks so much.
