In my native language, which is German, "konstruktiv" has a similar meaning like "helpful". Therefor I would like to know whether you can use "constructive" in the following examples or if "constructive" has a slightly different meaning... Example 1: You alwayss complain but you never contribute anything constructive. 2. Thank you for your constructive answer! It was really helpful.

Hello!
I believe "konstruktiv" in English is:
Positive
Favourable
Your sentences would be:
1) You always complain but you never contribute anything positve/favourable.
2) Thank you for your positve answer! It was really favourable.
You are correct that "helpful' is similar but words that completely means "knostruktiv" would be the two above.
