My friend who has been working at panera for quite sometime just helped me yesterday fill out an online application to work there. She told me that I should call them today and ask for the manager and to see if they have any positions open and to just let them know i applied online. I would just like some help on how I should word what I'm going to say when I call so I don't sound stupid also just to know what to expect I don't know if she's gonna ask me questions after.

Me: Yes i filled out my application for ....... and i would like to check my status?
(Person on phone) yes we your application .... were currently review application.... will give you a call back
Me: okay thanks, i was wondering are they any other positions open right now or coming up soon? I would like to apply online for those if available or when they become available.
(Person will respond answering that question and give you opportunites or other positions. When it comes to interview time. Dress professionally or business suited.)
End your call by saying " thank you for your help, have a good etc etc.
I recommend you work on your communication skills. A question is a question no matter how stupid it is because in the end its not stupid. Also stay on top of your application, call every few days and check your application status. People who calls more frequently about their application and application status demonstrates how badly they want that job/position. Business will notice that.
