Job 2 - Pays 12/hr and has a 20 minute commute.
It's a railroad / lumber job. My duty would be to shovel railroad ties.
Which job would you choose?
Both are full time positions
One job is 45 hours a week to get $600 - $60 = $540. That is actually $12/hour.
The other is 41.67 hours a week to get $480 - $20 =460. That is $11.04/hour.
That is almost a wash.
But the big question is what are you going to do with the money? After all, if you spend all your money it doesn't matter much which job you take. I suggest you consider getting a pad closer to your job so you can sell the car and walk to work. That will save you more than a thousand bux a year. You can buy silver coins and ingots and have economic security.
