I've overhauled a mitsubishi Diamante '92 DOHC V6 engine. I've timed the engine, when I try to start it, it cranks but it doesn't start. I've changed the crankshaft position sensor and retimed the engine again. I've also check is there's fuel going into the cylinders, also if the spark plugs start. But it still won't start. Do any of you have any suggestions to what I can do?

If the engine won't start, one of these things is likely missing...
Can you turn over the engine with enough speed for the starter motor to catch? If this doesn't happen, does your battery have enough charge?
Is the fuel/air mix correct for your injectors/carbeurettor?
Do you have enough spark?
Is your timing correct?
Is the compression normal? The engine will probably be hard to start if the compression is below 80 psi.
Hope that helps.
Ok see I only get 1 post... Sooo.
This guys an idiot anyway.
Ok its on TDC.
Pull the Dist. Cap.
Is the rotor pointing to #1.
Is the wire going from that position on the cap going to the plug (#1) you pulled?
If all the above is yes. Then put the cap back on.
O did you put the rotor bug in? Before you put the dist. cap on?
Ground the side of the spark plug. Then have someone crank the motor. Watch the plug. Is it firring?
If so stick a drink straw in the plug hole. Is the piston at the top when you see the plug fire?
If yes. Put the plug back in.
Pour 1 oz. gas down the intake. (Dont do this while cranking. Motor may be back firing and will shoot flames out the intake!)
Crank it. Gas + spark = explosion of some sort. Does it try to hit? (Fire). Maybe at the wrong time? Move the cap a few degrees while cranking it. Start to hit? '
Ill mark and keep track of this incase you are still at this.

OK .. If your still there I will try to help.
Pull #1 plug.
If you are doing this you should know where TDC (Top Dead Center) is.
Put the motor by hand on TDC. Stick a screwdriver or whatever in the plug hole. Is the piston on top?
If so and the cam is timed right we go to the next thing.
