Over a year ago, I lost just under a stone and now that I have slowly started to put it back on, I have found myself lacking motivation to re-lose it. I have good reason why I want to do so and know how to too, yet I still continue to cave into temptation and binge eat badly. How do you saty away from temptation? Stay motivated and keep at routine?

Let me tell you first hand that I've been where you are. Up until recently I was about 60 pounds overweight for my age. But for some odd reason I suddenly felt an unexpected vibe for running and eventually joined the cross country to in turn lose that 60 pounds and some change, probably a little too much change. So for about a year and a half I was a star (at least I want to think I was) cross country runner. But then all of a sudden I was in the same boat you were in, I had completely lost the vibe and this is the state I am in now. I started to eat more and didn't exercise enough. Right now I have no passion or motivation to find any exercise that I love again, and I probably put back on about 20 pounds to be honest. But to tell you the truth, it was a couple weeks ago that I went outside on a walk and just flashbacked to my running days and I realized how happy I was. I realized how good it felt to finish a run and feel like I accomplished something that was helping me in the long run. It felt so good to be lighter, with less on your shoulders, metaphorically and literally. So it was in that moment that I picked up the pace and just started running (I know this sounds like Forrest Gump) and my vibe suddenly came back to me. It was confusing at the same time though and I really did not know what had happened. So my advice to you is to do the same. Don't go the gym. Find something that is outdoors. Think back to something you loved to do in high school that made you healthy. Think back to how good it felt to have that child-like skinniness and understand what is like to have that. But by know you are thinking I am just unloading to you, which I am, but let me give you the stone hard advice. Like I said previously, think of something athletic you can do outside and just go do it. That could be biking, running, etc. And then just feel it out, and see if the vibe is there. Is the vibe is there, then get into a routine. If it means that much to you, download an app on your phone that trains you for stuff, that's what I did to do my first triathlon. And then just do it. Whenever you are feeling down, whenever you are feeling happy, just do it. It will make you feel SO much better let me just tell you. But if the vibe isn't there, then move on. Don't torture yourself with an exercise you don't enjoy, it'll be dreadful. All in all, think back to the time you were saying when you lost all that weight. Find something else to do since the way you lost it obviously isn't motivating you. Go find something, it's waiting for you whether you know it or not.
