A couple of years ago i came home from school because i felt sick, that time i was. But fairley recently ive felt sick and came home and not been sick. I've been to the doctor and they've not been able to find anything and they think its just Anxiety. My dad think's feeling sick is just my way of coping or my way of suffering from Anxiety. He's told me i will never be sick from this and i would know for sure if i was gonna be sick. Do any of you guys have tips/ideas/facts anything ! to help me re-gain control of my mind and feed positive attitude and stop this ? ? ? plz reply

Anxiety is normal and is a way that your subconscious prepares you for challenges. Actors, singers in fact sportsmen & woman all suffer from it prior performing, there its called stage fright & this can make them physically sick! So you are not the only one.
In order to overcome this you must admit to yourself what it is that is worrying you. Is it school work, examinations or is it bulling? Next step is to start preparing yourself, for instance talk to your teacher and ask for exercises & a study plan for instance. If its bulling, take up a self defense course like Judo.
The point is to step by step build your ability & confidence up until you can face & beat that fear. Even if you don't succeed the first time, the next time you will & you are all ways growing stronger and that is a win in its self that you can be proud of.
I hope this helps you as I had problems at school too, this was my way of overcoming them and has served me well into adult life.
I dont think i can be phycially sick if its just Anxiety, its not like a disease or something like that. I think maybe the time i was sick it pushed back my confidence and makes me worry about being sick, thats why i get Anxiety and feel sick
Stress can make you sick if too great. This pressure is produced from what ever made you anxious the first time. Do not underestimate the power of the mind!
I think you will have to look back further, to find what was worring you, that caused the original anxiety attack. Maybe what caused it is still there & this is your chance to deal with it!
This is normal, because you are growing in both mind & body, the building process may ask you to repair bits so ensure a solid foundation.
I do advise you to go back to your doctor on this or talk to a teacher (they are human, their training covers this & especially as you are trying to sort it yourself, be happy to help or advise where else to ask).
You are on the road to recovery because you have taken active steps in admitting there is a problem, this experience can make you a stronger person if you keep going.
Take care
Yeah, ive talked to my Guidence teacher about it and they've said i can move seats in classes if thats whats causing it. But i think i just have a General phobia of Vomiting. Or its my nerves that make me feel sick. Like i said the Doctor couldnt find a thing wrong. Although i am currently awaiting some Blood Test results. I'm 14 Years old maybe im just getting this because im growing up,etc,Hormones.
I have read up, Googled your condition & it is common enought to have a name Emetophobia but not widely known! Among the famous with it are movie & sports stars namely Cameron Diaz, James Dean & Charlie Brooker (I bet no one on or off the rink has laughed at him for having a weak stomach & walked!)
Causes, not really know, but the most popular amongst the doctors was that the bad experience & embarrassment of vomiting in public for a child can be enough to start it.
Cure, if your blood tests are clear tell the doctor that you might have Emetophobia (do not mention the Internet thou as they see it as a source of hypochondria & worry! ) Say a relative or friend told you as they new of someone with it.
He or she might refer you for a course of aversion therapy which holds the greatest success, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is next or put you on anti anxiety tablets ( these help but you come to rely on them so not a full cure without therapy).
Some people have managed to cure themselves, but this takes great discipline & determination.
One of the most liked books by ordinary &; professionals, yet being still accessible & comprehensive is the "Managing Anxiety with CBT for "dummies"". Don't take any notice of the title, I have bought many books in the dummies series and found them practical & good for reference.
The other book is "The Anxiety & phobia work book" by Edmund Bourne. This is a fair bit more expensive & one professional put negative feedback against it while others found it useful.
Both are available from Amazon if you wish to check them out.
Hope this helps!
Yeah i've heard of Emetophobia and i think its fair to say that i probably do have it. I'll wait for my blood test results and look around Youtube for ways of coping, etc. I might buy one of the books you mentioned. If its just a Phobia i cant physically Vomit from it can i ? Ive been coping well from it for a while. But im going back to school in a while because we were off for 2 Weeks because of the Easter Holidays so its maybe just knocked my confidence a bit. I really appricate the help ! :-)
