Generally I consider myself a relatively advanced PC User, But I've come across a problem that's stumped me, I don't know what to do about it, I've checked the on-line forums though sadly I cannot find anyone with the exact problem, its doing my napper in..I need to chat to someone with knowledge of dell systems, who has performed OS upgrades and overcome set-up issues that could arise..particularly with regards to freezing during set-up.. I'm on the computer in question right now, I've installed windows XP its gone on and is running fine..The Problem is I don't like windows XP I have used the shit out of it and though it was very good in its day, I'd prefer windows 7 or higher..I have every version of windows on disc in front of me now, I got XP, windows 7 lite, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 All were burned at slow speeds in the correct manner some using image burn some were made using Power ISO.. I have 2 Scandisk USB sticks...I have put the bootable image of windows 7 lite onto one of the memory sticks using Power ISO..I have plugged in the USB and rebooted the system..I then went into set-up edited the boot order (told PC to boot from the USB first) it says windows 7 set-up "loading files" and the bar whizzes up at the bottom then message changes to "starting windows"...that's where it just freezes it would remain on that window until you physically turn the PC off..Any ideas...I tried 3 different hard drives both sata and IDE.
