It is my hw so please help give short answers?

1. The Earth gains the majority of its warmth from radiation in the form of a stream of photons from the sun, which we call light. The heat is produced when the light hits the darker coloured areas of the earth's surface, where it is absorbed. colours heating them & these in turn emit infra-red radiation to its surroundings including the atmosphere, which is an electromagnetic wave of frequency just below the visible light spectrum. This lower frequency is more in tune with the molecular structures, so energy from the wave pushes them at the right time (like a swing) making them vibrate more. So it is absorbed by anything it hits like clouds, carbon dioxide like a green house.

2.Applying Vaselline to the surface of plant leaves affect their rate of transpiration by blocking the stomata (the holes by which the water evaporates). These stomata are located most plants on the underside of leaves to prevent them being clogged by the rain and to keep them out of the sun to minimise water loss. The stomata are primarily there to allow the diffusion of Carbon Dioxide gas from the air for photosynthesis, water loss is a cost, but cools the plant & helps draw water up from the roots like sucking on a straw. So these processes to would be stopped by the Vaselline coating.

3. Solar energy is produced by Nuclear fusion of Hydrogen into Helium. There is a small mass loss, this difference is converted into energy mostly in the form of photons in accordance with Einstein's theory of relativities concluding equation E=MC squared.

Sorry if some of these are a little long,Nuclear Fusion is a quite an interesting 5 stage process, molecular harmonics calculations proving infra red radiation absorption efficiencies I cut out! Its still your HW & the of it point is to explore, comprehend & explain.
