Is it normal that the staff doesn’t wash hands in between patients but just changes the gloves. Also I asked for staff to wear masks during my appointments to tighten braces. I hate someone breathing and talking above my open mouth. But it seemed like a hassle and my orthodontist even said “ you haven’t gotten over that yet?”
Also all patients are seen together in one room. The orthodist was asking me about a severely decayed tooth and I found it embarrassing to be discussed in front of other patients. I’m a nurse and it’s totally different standards to what we do in hospitals. Is all that pretty standard for orthodontists?
Is this how all orthodontists work?

No, not at all. Even in Los Algodones, Mexico the only complaint I ever heard was that they didn't wash their hands quite as much as is normal in USA.
BTW if your dental work is not covered by insurance you can get it a lot cheaper in Los Algodones. The place is called "dentist capital of the world".
