and the he says, "i just now realized i've never seen you with out a pony tail before." so we talk about that. then he says, " i'd bet you'd look cute."

No. He's trying to fill in the picture in his head of some idealized woman figure. Nobody gets to change me by request, and I don't get to tell others to change anything about them. I don't get to request my girlfriend to become a Barbie Doll. What you feel about how you look is entirely up to you.
So sorry. It's a computer question, and you will get conflicting points of view, not just the answers you want. I spoke from 15yrs of personal experience as a professional family counselor and my own personal experiences. You're quick to offend, which leads me to believe that you knew your answer before asking the question. So please, don't be angry with me, it was an honest answer to a question seeking answers.
