Okay so it all began me wanting to sell my husbands 1956 Chevy Bel Air I posted an ad on craigslist and within an hour I was receiving calls left and right two guys who wanted to split the cost with each other showed up, he then put a deposit of $500 with a written letter saying so,they are coming tomorrow to pick it up, after some time went by I started to realize that we were selling the car way too cheap, so we then called the two guys back to tell them that my husband wanted to keep the car and because the price was too low ( a big mistake) once we talked to them telling them we wanted to back out of the deal they(we would refund their deposit) they then told us "that was going to be a problem" so my question is, is there anything we can do from here without having to basically give them the car for the very low price, If anyone can help please let me know Thanks !

If you're selling a car, it has to be done legally. You have to go through the ministry of transportation, otherwise, the car can be reported as stolen, winding you in a lot of trouble.
Please DO NOT be intimidated by the two guys. If you dont want to sell the car and are willing to refund their initial payment, there is no legal problems. Depending on how you spoke with them may make a difference, however. If it was all agreed upon on the phone, it's his word against yours, and really couldn't hold up in any legal situation. Even over text, a court or legal group would have a hard time testifying with that. Sellers remorse is common with accumulated sentiment, especially with cars. You may have to turn them down, but if you have to meet with them, do so in a public place if you're worried about their stature against yours ;)
Do U know if I legally have to sell it?
