I have been searching if a machine like a submarine exist for digging into the earth. I was curiouse if it would even be a possible for such a machine to function.

As stated in my question i am searching for a machine that acts like a submarine a TBM (Tunnel boring machine) is mostly used for creating underground railroads/Subways. and acts by driving only in a linear way. i am searching more for something that could be used in all axis of movement thats why i used the word Submarine for it as a refrence :] .
