I have XP want some good programs on my PC

If you've any choice in the matter, upgrade either to 7 or 10, if not for performance & interface improvement then in order to avert such compatibility issues.
That said, the easiest trick is obtaining dated versions of the programs released when xp had been supported. Notwithstanding the likely challenge (outside of open source), they're usually floating around somewhere. Beyond that, the programs themselves (or the platforms on which they're compiled) might assume & take advantage of certain os functionality, so unless there's some unusual demand for back compat the drop is final for all intents and purposes. That's pretty much guaranteed with new m$ software.
The inverse process is much cleaner - if there's any specific software requiring xp whose upgrades had ceased, you've got compatibility settings (somewhat reliable) and emulators (100% reliable, kinda heavy).
