Well, my family is quite low on money. I recently got caught harming myself by a school counselor and they suggested for me to get therapy.
I told them my family's financial situation, and they offered some places that might not cost much or are free. I don't believe that there can, and neither did my mom. I feel like I want help, but I can't get any. I don't know what to do.
Is there a way to get cheap yet good therapy without medical insurance or something?

you just need someone in your corner.
its nice to have someone to talk to in trying times therapy can come from more people then having a degree such as friends and close family members anyone who is willing to listen and be there offering moral and emotional support is able to help. if you need someone to talk to feel free to talk with me. I might not be therapist but I'm willing to help.
first off.
whats got you so down that you would hurt yourself. why and how?
your family is well off financially I can relate my family isnt very rich either
First you have to call and ask them. Since you are an adolescent there is probably a program that would cover the costs of your sessions. Meaning that you wouldn't pay anything out of pocket. Being that your guidance counselor suggested it, they should be helping you look into that. "Should".
I'm an adult and I have medicaid because I do not make enough money for insurance, so medicaid pays for appointments at places who accept the type of medicaid that I have. You honestly just have to call around and ask.
I have no idea where you live.. but chances are since the counselor mentioned it.. you can find somewhere to go.
Good luck! And if someone is hurting you or doing something bad to you, try to tell someone you trust or call the child line type of number for your area.. most areas have that now.. wish I could help more.
isnt*…..I really hate autocorrect ^_^
