Is the US more or less democratic then at our beginning?

After the war was over, congress needed some cash so they enacted a tax exactly like the one that sparked the revolution. Of course the marks refused to pay, so George Washington personally led the army over there to collect the tax at gunpoint. Remember that when talk turns to "democratic".

BTW there was no discussion at all of "democratic" until about fifteen years ago. Before that you could not find a clear definition of democracy versus republic.
