Is social media ruining peoples day to day interactive lives?

Yes. It's making people anti-social in real-life situations. They pass on personal interactions, opting for texting instead.

It's cut human attention spans to that worse than a goldfish; an animal that used to be widely-known as having the worst attention span of all animal species.

It's also making people exceptionally impatient. They're being catered to almost immediately when they're online - instant gratification, if you will. Having to wait for more than three seconds for anything that has to be done in person is now "a waste of time".

Absolutely! I have a great example; as I was talking (on the phone) to my son yesterday - he was distracted by his daughter trying to talk on the phone to ask the cost of her and a friend wanting to go bowling. My grand daughter was at a loss for words and having great difficulty asking the right questions - why - all she's used of doing is texting.
Social media is great for certain things and not for others. Some people find it easier to just trash someone, on Social media, instead of saying the same words to their face.
I feel ALL parents MUST take away their child's iPhones away, for 1-week, and force there child(ren) to TALK to others face-to-face.

Yes. It's making people more dependent on their devices, taking away from face-to-face conversation. They simply can't talk to people face to face, and have to do it via messaging or ordering something online, not having to deal with people.

It's also made people incredibly impatient because, online, you get what you want immediately. Not so much in the "real world".
