My company recommends Shrew Soft VPN client, but at the same time they also recommend Office XP and Windows Vista, so I'm not sure how up-to-date their information is. Since development on Shrew Soft VPN client has stalled around 2013, I'm thinking it's dead, and then I need to find an alternative.

You mean about Vista and Office XP, or Shrewsoft? I'm mainly asking about Shrewsoft; we already know that our IT department is archaic and incompetent.
