I have recently been diagnosed with PTSD and after my last therapy session I have been having racing thoughts, images and emotions through my head so fast I can't concentrate or even sleep i can't get it to stop any suggestions and is it normal ?

No, that specific symptom is not listed as one for PTSD. Racing thoughts can be a result of stress or anxiety. The anxiety can be a result of just talking about the diagnosis, not understanding what PTSD is or facing other issues brought up or triggered by the content of the session.
I won't lie to you, therapy is hard work. Some sessions send you out angry, fearful, tearful or sometimes just exhausted wanting to talk to nobody just go to bed and sleep (and you should). All of which are normal to be expected but every session takes you a step away from the reason why you are there and a step toward eliminating the reason you are there.
I'd keep the therapist in the loop on how things are affecting you. This gives feedback on how to guide you when to slow down or speed up and generally how to help. They aren't mind readers so work with the counselor. Try a relaxing bath and chamomile tea to help slow you down. You can also journal the process, it can be very helpful.
