in maharashtra goverment officer says that punjabi is cast. so is this correct or not.

by mistake on school living certificate cast is written by school master punjabi .,when it wants to correct ,the govrment officer says that punjabai is cast and it will not change.so they says give govt gazzet proof for punjabi is not cast.
