You have strung together a bunch of code words with uncertain meanings. That makes your question an example of "button pushing", which means it has no meaning, but it provokes prejudices.
"Environment" means your surroundings. But many people have prejudices regarding this or that subcategory of environment.
"Choking" is a graphic term which might mean a lot of things, from impeding a flow of materials to murder.
"Waste" means whatever you choose it to mean. Some countries use "waste" to power generators. So is that waste, or is it fuel?
Many people don't even know what "plastic" means. It means flexible. Some materials called plastics are biodegradable.
Bottom line: There is no answer to your question. Only "knee-jerk" reactions.
Today plastics of many kinds are in every room. Worldwide, it is a $200,000,000,000 industry. The largest use, some 30 percent, is for packaging, including bottles and bags including baby diapers. In second place, with about 20 percent, is its use in building materials. While extremely useful and cheap, plastics do have their drawbacks in disposal. Burned, they release toxic pollutants; dumped, they remain “an indestructible blight on the landscape.” While recycling could solve the problem, collecting and sorting have proved to be very expensive.
Environmental experts and officials of government say we must change our habits or else be buried alive in our own garbage. Modern throwaway products may be a boon to consumers, but they are a bomb to earth’s garbage dumps. No end is in sight for the life of discarded plastics. Contrary to conventional wisdom, the 350 million pounds of paper thrown out each day by Americans and an unknown tonnage worldwide does not break down and disappear in landfills even under tons of garbage for years. Newspapers unearthed in landfills after being buried for over 35 years were as readable as on the day they were published.
The bible tells soon our Creator Jehovah will soon destroy this destructive system and bring in a clean new earth 2Peter 3:13.
