It depends because there are many types of Physics-Physical Science is part of it there is many more such as Mathematical Physics and Practical Physics that involves mostly practical but you can check a really good site physics.about.com. Hope this helps.

That's correct! It's physical sicence when someone talking about physics. But I must add here, not all physical scientists deal with complex-physical-problems. There are some that deal with just the basics--that is: basic physical science. So, physics is actually not always about can't-be-followed discussions.
