I have informed the landlord that I will leave the house. I haven't paid for this last month I live? and so I told him to keep the deposit. The thing is, I will stay in the house for 20 days of the month. Do I have to request any amount of the deposit back for the rest of the 10 days? Is this legal? Is it reasonable?

well you told him to keep it and you didn't pay any rent by rights he could ask you to pay prorated rent but didn't so does the deposit add up to being a months rent? how much was the deposit?normally something like this is in writing so i would say that you should leave it alone unless the deposit was more then the rent did you give a written notice?
*He said that he will speak
The deposit was 550 and the rent is the same. I have a roomate that is not in the contract so 275 pounds each. I talked to my landlord and he said that `We charge montly`, so I insist and he said that he will to his brother (Who is the real owner of the property). It may sound stupid what I am asking but if I can get back any amount of money then why not? I calculated and it is 99 pounds (for me is something). Thanks for you response bytheway !
